a quartz chalcocite specularite vein cuts Gowganda Sediments. The vein strikes E and dips 70S to 90. A test pit in 1967 exposed the vein for a length of about 10 feet, a width of 3.5 feet, of which 1 foot was massive chalcocite and specularite
In the early 1970's, Gould Copper Mine Ltd. drove an adit into the main vein (Vein Zone 1) and drifted west along the vein for a distance of 476 feet. The company constructed a 250-ton per day concentrator that produced a small amount of copper concentrate. The main vein was tested by II drill holes.
In 1980. M. Jensen estimated that 6600 tons of rock had been removed from the adit of which 1000 tons remain in stockpile and 5600 tons were processed to produce 240 tons of 35% copper concentrate (Sault Ste. Marie Geologist District Office Assessment Files). A small amount of ore was mined and milled by Elsa Don Explorations in 1980.
During the summer of 2024, CJP visited the property. During this visit a drone orthophoto was performed along with some prospecting. During prospecting campaign, the main vein system was located and sampled. The vein was heavily mineralized with chalcopryrite. Assays are still pending.
