Barbara Lake Area
Near Nipigon, Ontario

This represents a historic Copper showing with assays up to 9.53% copper along with 0.174 opt gold.

This area has recently become the epicentre of lithium exploration in Ontario.
Barbara Lake is a recent addition to the CJP portfolio.

The metasedimentary rocks are intruded by granitic rocks, porphyry, pegmatite and aplite. The Proterozoic rocks are represented by the Sibley Group sedimentary rocks. Intrusive into the Proterozoic sedimentary rocks and the older formations are bodies of diabase. A major north northeast trending fault, the Jackpine River Glacier Creek Fault transects the area. Pudifin (1973) described the mineralization as a breccia fault zone over a length of 2400 feet: Heavier concentrations of chalcopyrite are found in surface showings along the westerly side of the fault. Additional prospecting and trenching in the fall of 1972 found a strongly brecciated zone cemented by chalcopyrite and pyrite. This occurrence is also along the westerly side of the fault zone. Mineralization consists of heavily disseminated to massive cementing material of chalcopyrite, pyrite and silica. Breccia fragments are of several types: including felsic to near cherty volcanic rock; chloritic fragments, possibly also of volcanic origin; and altered, chloritized sedimentary rocks. The copper bearing breccia zone is hosted within northeast trending faults with a focus of mineralization being located at the intersection of the two structures. The fault breccia is composed of gneissic and granitic fragments cemented with varying amount of pyrite chalcopyrite and quartz. The mineralized fault breccia has been traced for up to 2400 feet with widths of 60 100 feet, and up to 6.67% copper in grab samples.

Recently, with the push for Lithium, this area has been heavily targeted.  The Barbara Lake Property is located within the same township and east of Imagine Lithium's Jackpot Lithium deposit.  The Barbara Lake Property has only ever had its base metal exploration and has never been looked at for its Lithium potential.    As noted in the Gunnex drill log,  the collaring of the top 16 feet is in untested Pegmatite.
